Domestic Violence against woman: Ray Rice

In the article I read in ESPN, Sources: Ray Rice Spat At Fiancé, it states the story of how Ray Rice abused his fiancé.  Janay Palmer, Rice’s fiancé, was a victim of domestic violence. Some people are defending Rice of his actions. Some blaming the fiancé for provoking, some blame Rice for abusing Palmer. Ray Rice should be responsible and accept the consequences.

Good thing there was a security video for proof that Rice punched his fiancé’s face twice, causing her to be unconscious. Rice dragged her out of the elevator “"The first thing he [Rice] said is, 'She's intoxicated. She drank too much. I'm just trying to get her to the room,'" one staffer said (sources: ray rice spat at fiancé), was trying to cover up the mess he made, thinking he can get away with his actions. CNN’s article about the situation, Ray Rice's wife slams his punishment for violence against her, he states that Rice was suspended for two football games but “not guilty to aggravated assault and applied to a program for first-time offenders that could clear him of chargers in a little as one year.”

Some people do not just see Ray Rice as a football player, but at someone they can look up too. Thinking he has a good life and is a good football player. People seeing how easy it was for Rice to get away with this situation is not okay. They should give Rice for consequences for his actions. Palmer should speak up; take a role as a woman to stop domestic violence against women. She can be the voice for other woman out there that goes through this problem everyday.
